Dr. sweta chakraborty, ph.d.

Co-Host / Behavioural Scientist

Dr. Sweta Chakraborty is a risk and behavioral scientist whose work is motivated by the need for clear, credible, evidence-based communication to urgently and proactively manage the risks that threaten human security and well-being. She is the founder and principle of Adapt to Thrive, a venture that seeks to better inform individuals, businesses, and government entities on the complex, interconnected challenges, such as food security and disease, already existing and emerging from a warming planet.

Sweta serves on the board of the Serendipity Foundation, where she funds global non-profits, as well as the boards for America Adapts and We Don’t Have Time. Sweta is a former civil justice systems program associate at Oxford University’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies (CSLS) and an adjunct professor of decision science at Columbia University. She earned her doctorate in risk management from King’s College London, and her undergraduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.

Sweta is regularly interviewed on major, international news media outlets including CNN, the BBC, Fox News Channel, Sky News, CGN, NZTV, i24, OAN, ABC, and Newsmax to name a few. She has written extensively in peer-reviewed journals, is co-author of the book “Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Safety: A Study in Public and Private Regulation,” and is currently working on her second book on adaptation to global risks.
